Updates from the Morse Garden

The fall is a great time for gardening!!! Although the cold of winter is quickly setting in, students (and parents) harvested some lettuce from the Morse Garden for the school Thanksgiving Feast!

Below, a first grade class is tending to and harvesting lettuce, spinach, and garlic, that will be ready next spring.





Sleepy Hollow Middle School Garden

Below are pictures of the SHMS Kitchen Garden's newly built raised bed. It's location outside of the cafeteria make it perfect for plans to supply salad greens to our students come spring.

WI Greenhouse

The kids have begun to amend the beds with compost from Stone Barns Center and test for the proper pH before they begin to plant their seeds.

Come Help Us Put the Valley Street Garden to Bed for the Winter

Come out and help the Sleepy Hollow Community Garden Coalition and your neighbors prepare the the Valley Street garden for the winter. Please meet at the garden (behind 100 College Ave) from 10:00 am to noon this Saturday, November 6th to help out! No gardening experience required! The Bounty of Our County

Below are just a few pictures from Sleepy Hollow Community Gardens and Slow Food Westchester's benefit, "The Bounty of Our County" held in Tarrytown on October 16, 2010.
